Founded in 1994, Rain exists to mobilise individuals to act in support of people who face stigma and isolation – especially as a result of HIV/AIDS.
Rain has a particular interest in working with faith-based groups but draws its volunteers and staff from all backgrounds.
Since August 2004, Rain has developed support service for Black Ethnic Minority (BME) communities’ particularly African men living with HIV/AIDS in London.
Its permanent base is now in a building managed for the mainstream voluntary sector by the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
Recently Rain was awarded a Big Fund Lottery grant to offer access to peer support to HIV positive African men and Access to training and employment to everyone living with HIV/AIDS.
